Tinubu, APC NWC Throw Full Weight Behind Fubara, Other APC Governors — Party Chieftain

According to a report by The Punch, the Deputy National Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Duru Eze, has reaffirmed that Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, alongside other governors on the platform of the party, enjoys the full backing of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC national leadership.
Speaking on Sunday, January 4, 2026, Eze disclosed that the support extended to Governor Fubara and others is a collective decision of the party’s highest organs—the National Working Committee (NWC) and the National Executive Committee (NEC).
He explained that the endorsement guarantees Fubara and other APC governors equal rights, privileges, and protection accorded to all members of the ruling party.
Eze noted that every governor who joined the APC did so after formally accepting the party’s constitution and manifesto, stressing that their alignment with the party’s ideals earned them official endorsement from President Tinubu.
According to him, this endorsement serves as a political assurance that Governor Fubara and his colleagues will receive the necessary backing to discharge their responsibilities effectively and pursue their electoral ambitions.
“The President is the leader of the APC, and all governors are expected to operate within the framework and guidance of the party’s national leadership,” Eze stated, adding that this structure is designed to promote unity, discipline, and coherent governance across APC-controlled states.
He further revealed that supporting incumbent governors is a deliberate strategy by the APC to consolidate its base, strengthen internal cohesion, and ensure continuity in governance.
Eze emphasized that the party will continue to provide governors with access to party structures, resources, and strategic support required for effective administration and re-election bids.
Making it clear that Governor Fubara is not an exception, Eze urged party members nationwide to respect the leadership’s endorsements and rally behind sitting governors to reinforce the party’s dominance.
“The approach of the APC ensures that governors can concentrate on development and governance while enjoying solid national backing,” he said.
“They have also received the endorsement of the President, and by extension, that of the NEC and NWC of the party. So, Fubara, other governors and others will get all the necessary support to succeed,” Eze added.
