The Deputy Director, Grassroots Engagement and Mobilisation, Tinubu 2027, and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Akinjide Kazeem Akinola (AKA), has congratulated His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Akanmu Ladoja, ARUSA I, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, on the occasion of his 82nd birthday and the first anniversary of his ascension to the historic throne of Ibadanland.
In a goodwill message made available to Jamisi Newsline, Hon. Akinola described the Olubadan as an illustrious son of Ibadan whose remarkable journey from professional and public service to the traditional throne represents a compelling story of service, perseverance, wisdom and destiny.
According to him, the occasion provides an opportunity for the people of Ibadanland and beyond to celebrate not only the birthday of a revered monarch but also a life dedicated to the advancement of society.
«“His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, is a man whose life embodies experience, resilience, intellectual accomplishment, public service and an enduring commitment to the progress of his people. His ascension to the Olubadan throne is the culmination of many years of service and a remarkable journey through the traditional institution of Ibadanland,” Akinola said.»
The APC chieftain noted that Oba Ladoja’s years of experience in the public sphere, including his service as a former Governor of Oyo State and Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, have given him a unique understanding of governance, community development and the aspirations of the people.
He added that his transition from political and public leadership to the revered position of Olubadan has further enriched the traditional institution with a wealth of experience and statesmanship.
Hon. Akinola commended the monarch for the dignity, wisdom and sense of responsibility with which he has approached his first year on the throne, stressing that the Olubadan institution remains one of the most respected traditional institutions in Nigeria.
«“Ibadan is a city of history, courage, enterprise and remarkable people. The Olubadan is not merely a custodian of tradition; he is also a symbol of the unity, identity and collective aspirations of the people of Ibadanland. We therefore have every reason to celebrate Kabiyesi and pray that his reign will continue to bring peace, unity, development and prosperity to our people,” he said.»
Akinola further prayed for Almighty Allah to grant the Olubadan long life, sound health, wisdom, strength and many more years of purposeful service to Ibadanland, Oyo State and humanity.
He urged the people of Ibadanland, political leaders, traditional institutions, religious leaders, community leaders and well-wishers to continue to accord the monarch the respect and support necessary for the preservation of peace, unity and development across the ancient city.
«“As Kabiyesi celebrates 82 years of a life of service and marks one year on the historic Olubadan throne, may Almighty Allah continue to strengthen His Imperial Majesty and grant him the wisdom and grace to lead with peace, justice and dignity. May his reign be remembered for unity, development, stability and renewed pride in the rich heritage of Ibadanland,” Akinola prayed.»
He concluded by wishing the monarch many more years of peaceful and impactful reign, while reaffirming his respect for the Olubadan institution and his commitment to the progress and development of Ibadanland.
