A Patriotic Bows Out: Alao Mourns Buhari, Consoles President Tinubu

A chieftain of the APC, Engr Oyedele Hakeem Alao popularly known as Allow Alao, has extended his heartfelt condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the government and people of Nigeria, and the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari on the news of his passing.

In a statement personally signed by Engr. Alao and made available to the press through his media office, the former gubernatorial candidate described the death of Muhammadu Buhari — a two-time leader of the Nigerian nation, first as Military Head of State (1983–1985) and later as democratically elected President (2015–2023) — as “a moment of profound national grief and reflection.”

According to Engr. Alao, “President Buhari was a man of uncommon discipline, personal integrity, and deep patriotism. Whether as a soldier, a statesman, or a civilian president, he devoted his life to the service of this country. His contributions to national development, anti-corruption advocacy, and national security initiatives will continue to shape Nigeria’s political and historical landscape.”

He continued: “This is a great loss not only to his family and political associates but to the entire nation, particularly at a time when Nigeria is striving for unity, stability, and economic rebirth. His death is painful, yet we are consoled by the impactful life he lived and the legacy of resilience and national service he leaves behind.”

Alao offered special words of sympathy to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the moment as a challenging one for the country and for a close associate of the deceased. “Mr. President, may God strengthen you with the wisdom and fortitude to lead the nation through this period of mourning. Nigeria stands with you.”

He also prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive President Buhari’s shortcomings, accept his soul, and grant him Aljanah Firdaus.

Alao called on Nigerians to honor the late leader’s memory by remaining united and continuing to work together to build a better country — one of justice, fairness, and progress.
