Fresh controversy has erupted over the Awujale stool selection process following explosive revelations by Olori Ebi, Prof. Fassy Yusuf, who on Saturday tore into what he described as deep-rooted manipulation, misinformation, and bad faith surrounding the exercise.

Candidate List Signed in Error, Withdrawal Imminent

He challenged anyone with contrary legal or historical evidence to come forward, citing three clear precedents in Ijebuland where individuals who were Otunbas—and even kingmakers—later became Obas.

All Ruling House Descendants Have Equal Rights

Prof. Yusuf also reaffirmed that every descendant of a ruling house, male or female, has equal rights to ascend the throne, grounding his position firmly in the Ogun State Oba and Chieftaincy Law of 2022. He dismissed opposing narratives as either sheer ignorance of the law or deliberate mischief, accusing certain actors of twisting history and legality to advance selfish and monetised agendas.
