Zahra Buhari Indimi Represents Aisha Buhari at Arise News Women of Impact Awards 2026

Zahra Buhari Indimi, daughter of Nigeria’s late former President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday represented her mother, Aisha Buhari, at the Women of Impact Award 2026 held in commemoration of International Women’s Day.

In a media post shared on March 10, 2026, Zahra Buhari Indimi disclosed that the high-profile event was organised by Arise News to celebrate exceptional women whose leadership, resilience, and dedication continue to drive development across Africa.

The ceremony honoured several prominent women for their outstanding contributions to national and continental growth, including Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Hadiza Bala Usman, and Fatima Umaru Shinkafi.

Zahra Buhari Indimi described her mother’s recognition as well deserved, citing Aisha Buhari’s long-standing advocacy in maternal and child health, education, nutrition, women’s empowerment, and the fight against gender-based violence. She noted that these efforts have continued to positively impact lives across Nigeria and beyond.

She also expressed appreciation to those who accompanied her to the event, including former Oyo State First Lady Florence Ajimobi, Grace Folashade Bent, Mary Ekpere-Eta, Elizabeth Amao, and Alhaji Kabiru Dodo.
