Fabiyi Accuses Tinubu of Undermining PDP, Commends Wike’s Political Strategy

By Jamisi Newsline

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Fabiyi, has alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is deliberately working to weaken the opposition party in order to consolidate power ahead of future elections.

Speaking during a political discussion, Fabiyi claimed that recent internal crises rocking the PDP are not accidental but part of a broader political agenda aimed at destabilising the party from within.

According to him, the ongoing divisions within the PDP serve the interests of the ruling party, describing the situation as a calculated move to ensure President Tinubu’s continued dominance in Nigeria’s political landscape.

Fabiyi, however, singled out the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for praise, describing him as “very smart” in navigating the complex political terrain.

“I honestly give it to Wike. He understands the game and is playing it strategically,” Fabiyi said, noting that Wike’s political manoeuvres have significantly influenced the current power dynamics within the PDP.

He further argued that unless the PDP leadership urgently addresses its internal disagreements and strengthens party unity, the opposition risks further marginalisation on the national stage.

The comments come amid growing concerns among party stakeholders over factional disputes and leadership struggles within the PDP, raising questions about its readiness to effectively challenge the ruling party in upcoming political contests.
