APC MAINSTREAM GROUP REJECTS 3RD-TERM AGENDA IN EGBEDA/ONA-ARA, DEMANDS FAIRNESS AND ROTATION

The Mainstream Group of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency has strongly rejected the emerging third-term agenda of the current federal lawmaker, Hon. Akin Alabi, describing it as unjust, exclusionary, and harmful to party unity.
In a statement issued on behalf of party loyalists, grassroots leaders, youths, and elders across the constituency, the group noted that Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency belongs equally to two local governments, and any attempt to retain the seat within one local government for a third consecutive term amounts to political sidelining of Ona-Ara Local Government.
“Ona-Ara has been consistently deprived of the opportunity to produce the federal representative despite its loyalty and contribution to APC victories. A third term under the present imbalance is nothing but political cheating,” the group stated.
The Mainstream Group emphasized that the APC was founded on principles of fairness, justice, and inclusion, warning that the continued exclusion of Ona-Ara could breed resentment and weaken grassroots support for the party.
The group therefore called on the APC national, regional, and Oyo State leadership to urgently intervene and ensure that the Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal seat is fairly rotated to Ona-Ara Local Government in the interest of unity, peace, and electoral strength.
“Our loyalty to APC is unwavering, but loyalty must never be mistaken for silence in the face of injustice. APC must make Ona-Ara people feel a true sense of belonging,” the statement concluded.
