A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Oyedele Hakeem Alao, has extended warm birthday felicitations to a revered progressive leader and elder statesman, Chief Bisi Akande, as he clocks 87 years.
In a statement made available to Jamisi News on Thursday, Engr. Alao described Chief Akande as a towering figure in Nigeria’s political history, whose life and legacy embody discipline, integrity, and unwavering commitment to progressive ideals.
According to him, Chief Bisi Akande’s contributions to democratic governance and nation-building remain timeless, noting that his tenure as Governor of Osun State laid a solid foundation for responsible leadership, transparency, and people-focused governance.
“Chief Bisi Akande is not only a former governor; he is a progressive icon, a patriot, and a moral compass whose voice continues to shape political thought and direction in Nigeria,” Alao said.
The APC chieftain further praised Akande’s role in strengthening the progressive movement in the country, describing him as a statesman whose courage, wisdom, and consistency have inspired generations of leaders across party lines.
“As Baba marks this remarkable age of 87, we celebrate a life of service, sacrifice, and honour. His legacy will remain indelible in the annals of Osun State and Nigeria at large,” he added.
