Alao Meets With Former APC Local Government Chairmen: Calls For Unity And Strategic Planning Towards 2027 Elections
In a significant move to foster unity and strategic realignment within the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, a prominent chieftain of the party in Oyo State, Engr. Oyedele Hakeem Alao (Allow Alao) met with former APC local government chairmen across the state in a high-level consultative meeting.
The meeting, held in Ibadan, was focused on reviewing the current state of the party at the grassroots level and strategizing on the way forward to reclaim electoral victories across Oyo State and Nigeria at large. Engr. Alao commended the former chairmen for their past contributions to the growth of the party and emphasized their ongoing importance in grassroots mobilization.
During the interactive session, Engr. Allow Alao stressed the need for the party to remain united, disciplined, and focused as 2027 approaches. He advocated for sincere reconciliation across all factions and interest groups, urging stakeholders to prioritize the collective interest of the APC over personal ambition.
In his words, “If we must win in 2027, we must go to the battlefield as one united family. APC must present a candidate that is generally acceptable to the majority of stakeholders and the electorate. The era of imposition and internal division must end. We have to work together – sincerely, openly, and strategically – if we are truly committed to progress.”
Engr. Alao further called for a robust internal democratic process that will reflect the will of the people, especially at the grassroots, adding that only unity and fairness can guarantee success for the party in the next general election.
The former party chairmen appreciated Engr. Alao for his thoughtfulness, humility, and proactive engagement, assuring him of their commitment to the party’s success. They echoed his call for a more inclusive and transparent process that will rebuild the APC’s strength across Oyo State.
The visit by Engr. Oyedele Hakeem Alao marks another bold step in his continuous efforts to reposition the APC as a truly people-centered political force ahead of 2027.
