In an official statement released to the media, Engr. Alao commended the Federal Government, particularly President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for identifying and appointing credible, experienced professionals to serve in this critical development initiative. He described the appointments of Alhaji Ibikunle as Executive Director, Commercial and Environmental Development, and Dr. Olaifa as a Board Member representing Oyo State, as well-deserved and timely.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle and Dr. Ibrahim Olaifa on their appointments to the South West Development Commission,” Engr. Engr. Alao noted that Alhaji Ibikunle brings to the role a wealth of experience in political administration and leadership, having served at both state and federal levels, while Dr. Olaifa, a seasoned medical practitioner and former Member of the House of Representatives for Oluyole Federal Constituency, adds further depth and value to the Commission.

“I am confident that their contributions, alongside the rest of the newly constituted Board and Executive Management, will be instrumental in achieving the objectives of the SWDC,” he added. “This marks a positive step towards fast-tracking sustainable development in the South West region.”

The South West Development Commission is one of six newly created zonal commissions approved by the National Assembly to drive balanced national development. The SWDC is to be headquartered in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Engr. Alao concluded by praising President Tinubu’s foresight and commitment to inclusive governance and regional development.

“The President has once again shown exceptional leadership by appointing individuals with proven competence and integrity to drive this critical national assignment. I wish the new appointees success in their new responsibilities.”
