Allow Alao Blasts Makinde’s Governance: Says Oyo Priorities Are Skewed, Projects Anti-People, Praises Tinubu’s Bold National Reforms

Ibadan, Oyo State — In a hard-hitting radio interview granted yesterday, Engr Oyedele Hakeem Alao, popularly known as Allow Alao, delivered a scathing assessment of the administration of Seyi Makinde, accusing the governor of failing to set the right priorities for the people of Oyo State.
Speaking with conviction and clarity, Allow Alao condemned what he described as anti-people policies under the Makinde government, with particular emphasis on the Circular Road project.

According to him, the project has degenerated into a painful episode of alleged land grabbing, leaving many citizens dispossessed and traumatized.

He cited a tragic case of a woman who reportedly lost her life after losing her land, describing the situation as a humanitarian failure that government ought to prevent, not provoke.

Allow Alao further criticized the state government’s decision to procure an aircraft, arguing that such an expenditure—especially with borrowed funds—was ill-timed and insensitive to the pressing needs of ordinary citizens.

He suggested that modern alternatives such as drones would have been more cost-effective and practical, insisting that the aircraft purchase represents a waste of scarce public resources.

The former gubernatorial candidate also took aim at the widely publicized ₦63 billion project, labeling it a fraud on the good people of Oyo State. He questioned the transparency, value, and real impact of the project, warning that grand figures without commensurate benefits only deepen public distrust in governance.
On the Bodija bombing saga, Allow Alao revisited the controversy surrounding the reported ₦30 billion allocation for victims, alleging that barely ₦5 billion was expended on those directly affected.

He described the handling of the tragedy as another example of misplaced priorities and poor accountability, urging the state government to be honest and compassionate in times of crisis.

In contrast, Allow Alao reserved strong praise for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, applauding the President’s reform agenda and courage to take tough decisions in the national interest. He described the removal of fuel subsidy as a landmark achievement that dismantled a system benefiting a privileged few at the expense of the masses. According to him, the reform is already redirecting national resources toward broader development and social equity.

He also commended President Tinubu’s approach to security, noting that the level of insecurity inherited was far worse and that the current administration has significantly reduced tensions across the country through decisive leadership and strategic interventions.

Allow Alao concluded by calling on the people of Oyo State to demand accountability, transparency, and people-centered governance. He stressed that leadership must be measured by the relief it brings to citizens, not by the size of budgets or the glamour of projects that leave the masses in pain.
